Postal Code V0X1G0 - Elevation 745m - Plant Hardiness Zone 3. Located on a Tulameen river floodplain, Coalmont Road, and Kettle Valley Railroad portion of the Trans Canada Trail. The only public utilities are landline phones and electricity. There are no stores and only one stop sign. Current population is around 100. Coalmontians enjoy the elbow-room, and a rural, independent lifestyle. Popular pastimes are hunting, fishing, placer mining, and auto repair.
Report on the All Candidates Forum in Princeton held October 29. Reprinted from The New Coalmont Courier. The meeting started with the usual self introductions of the candidates. Jamie Frandsen is originally from North Vancouver and has been visiting the area since he was 10.
A website has been set up in order to commemorate the 100th birthday of the town of Coalmont. An important part of this site is the incorporation of an on-line guestbook.
